Recently, the Beijing Representative Office of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC") officially commenced operations on May 25.
Founded in 1991, the SIAC is an independent non-profit arbitral institution in Singapore and one of the world's leading international commercial arbitration institutions. The Beijing office marks SIAC's second representative office in China following its Shanghai office. SIAC also maintains overseas representative offices in multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, South Korea, and India.
According to reports, the Beijing Representative Office of SIAC will be headed by Cunyuan Zhang, SIAC's China Regional Director and Chief Representative of the Shanghai Office. Prior to joining SIAC, he practiced in the dispute resolution department of Zhong Lun Law Firm, where he focused on representing clients in international commercial arbitration matters.
